Guy Sclanders (How to be a Great GM)
Founder and star of the "How to be a Great GM" YouTube channel, which, today, boasts over 200 000 subscribers and an active and loyal following on twitter and discord. Producing over 500 videos on how to tell a better story within the RPG context quickly moved from passion to full time occupation when in 2018 Guy published his first book: The complete guide to creating Epic campaigns. With over 25 000 PDF copies sold, it proved to be the first of many books. In 2019 Guy was the DM for the official D&D Twitch channel and ran two successful seasons for the Ghosts of Saltmarsh supplemental book, and later for the Descent into Avernus book. Since then, Guy has continued to write books, most recently successfully kickstarting his latest book: The practical guide to becoming a great GM. He continues to run games, make videos and write and now lives in London, England - the place where dragons live.
Celeste Conowitch is a game designer and performer based out of Seattle. Since graduating with a degree in Theatre Performance, she has spent every moment merging storytelling with a lifetime love of fantasy.
As a performer, she is best known as the DM and producer of the D&D actual play show Venture Maidens, a podcast that boasts over a million downloads and a six-year running spot on top 100 gaming charts. Recently, Venture Maidens garnered over 100k in Kickstarter funding to produce a campaign guide that brings their popular setting to tables worldwide in 2022.
When not plotting behind the screen, Celeste works as a full-time game designer with Kobold Press and freelances with the biggest names in the tabletop business. She has credits in over 30 products published by companies like Wizards of the Coast, Kobold Press, and MCDM.
Jasper Cartwright (Three Black Halflings)
Co-Host & Producer of Three Black Halflings, a podcast of three nerdy friends with strong opinions and even stronger Charisma scores exploring diversity in the incredible worlds of D&D and pop culture while doling out DM tips, thought-provoking conversations, a band of guests, and good times!
Jasper loves creating a sandbox for his players to dip into. Where you go and how you affect this world is completely up to you! In his games he likes to be fluid and the rule of cool always wins, so combine these two things will mean you might start out feeling like little fish in a vast ocean but soon enough you will be slaying dragons, influencing the governments of nations and saving the world!
Head of video content for Dungeons & Dragons, Todd is a Dungeon Master, player and showrunner for Legends of the Multiverse - “an ambitious D&D play series that tells interwoven stories of many adventurers across the multiverse”. He lives in Seattle with his wife Meagan and their puppy Fizzgig.
Todd will be co-DMing with his partner Meagan Kenreck, an avid D&D player who designs for the D&D YouTube channel, where she is also a cast member. So, at Todd’s table you can expect twice the fun and twice the masterful, fanciful twists!
Kelly Lynne D’Angelo
Dungeon Master or player for Girls Guts Glory, NDND, Geek & Sundry’s “Tales From The Loop", Sirens of the Realms, and more, Kelly-Lynne is a Native Tuscarora Two-Spirit and masterful storyteller. As well as being one of the contributing adventure authors for Dungeons & Dragons Candlekeep Mysteries, Kelly Lynne’s recent writing credits include TBS’ Miracle Workers, Netflix’s Spirit Rangers, and Adult Swim's Final Space.
Kelly loves to use unique homebrew, story-driven settings, generally set in the "Magical Past". The style of her games tend to be focused on intrigue, exploration, and role-play, though there will be plenty of combat that brings you to the Big Bad... if you make it there, alive. Collaboration, communication, and inventiveness with your party are key in her games - Kelly acts as a facilitator, more-so giving the player a sandbox to play in. Important moments within the story have terrain and miniatures, to really bring the player into the battles. And most importantly, Kelly wants you to have fun: moments of laughter and joy around a shared table.
B. Dave Walters
Storyteller & proud Scoundrel American best known as the writer of Dungeons & Dragons: A Darkened Wish for IDW comics, creator and DM of the Shadow of the Red Rage streaming show for Wizards of the Coast and DM of the Black Dice Society.
His games feature high level, high emotion; you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll crit. B. Dave Walters specializes in campaigns where there are no throw away characters. You’ll have the power to destroy a city but will think twice about fireballing a goblin just trying to feed its family.
The Dark Dice Table (Travis Vengroff & Kaitlin Statz)
Multi-award winning creative team behind the Dark Dice actual play podcast and Dungeon Masters to the likes of Jeff Goldblum. With a flair for horror, they've published multiple popular titles, including the True Necromancer Class, Domain of the Nameless God (the Platinum best selling horror campaign), and their original 5e sci-fi setting Liberty: AFTER. They won dozens of awards for writing, production, and music, recently recording a 40-person choir in Infernal, Elvish, and Icelandic. They believe in collaborative storytelling and are excited to unleash their newest terrifying adventures at their table at D&D in a Castle.
The GM Tim
Proud queer advocate within the gaming community, this Theatre-of-the-Mind Game Master runs multiple regular private campaigns for groups around the world. Tim is also honoured to be an adventure writer for the D&D Adventurers League, a regular judge at conventions and a GM Mentor for Baldman Games. In his brand he streams Star Trek: Lost Voyages—a Liveplay Star Trek Adventures game—on Twitch, hosts a monthly Book Club that celebrates diversity and inspiration for tabletop role players, be they GMs or Player Characters, and GMs Fierce Adventures—a monthly live D&D Drag show.
Tim's theatre of the mind style leaves you blissfully exhausted and wanting more. With an unwavering enthusiasm, The GM Tim weaves a story and world together with the players - he's even been known to use castle rooms to set up a scene or a combat rather than a map. Character creation and group cohesion often start months before the event. In the games you'll get a full range of levels as you start low and work your way up through the various sessions.
A graphic designer and avid D&D player, Meagan is best known for playing "Riddle", and "Widdle" on Legends of the Multiverse, and Heroes of the Planes. When Meagan isn't roleplaying she is busy designing for Legends of the Multiverse, the Dungeons and Dragons official YouTube channel, and Adventurer's League.
Meagan will be co-DMing with her partner Todd Kenreck, the head of video content for Dungeons & Dragons. This duo will be bending the game masterfully, so expect twice the fun and twice the fanciful twists!
Product Marketing Specialist for Dungeons & Dragons at Wizards of the Coast, Chris works with the larger team to produce and market the tabletop RPG, and has been integral to the success of the fifth edition of the game. He is the architect for the Dungeon Masters Guild, and head Dungeon Master for the D&D Adventurers League.
Chris’ game style is (in his own words) “EPIC!!!!!!!” Looking to save the multiverse against the forces of ultimate evil? Chris Lindsay is your DM.
Fenway Jones (Jasper’s Game Day)
Founder of the Jasper’s Game Day charity, and Silver Ennie Award winning RPG adventure author, Dm-ing has been a way of life for Fenway since she was 13, being featured in conventions such as Gamehole, Gary Con, Winter Fantasy, Origins and Gen Con; as well as in live streams for D&D Beyond, Wizards of the Coast, and Fandom Gaming.
At age 14 Fenway lost two friends to suicide and decided to turn her grief into actionable steps to reduce stigma surrounding mental health. She started the 501c3 non-profit Jasper’s Game Day and uses her hobby to raise funds for suicide prevention while spreading awareness, teaching people that RPGs can be an avenue to better mental health and save lives
Fenway’s games include a balance of roleplaying, combat, exploration and problem solving - she loves including puzzles in her adventures. Her games stay PG-13 and she is adamant about the usage of safety tools. For her, collaborating with each other is one of the most important things in a D&D game, second only to making sure everyone is having fun!
A veteran Game Master and Actual Play Twitch streamer, Alcuin Gersh brings his background in the visual arts and passion for storytelling and mythology into the games he runs.
Alcuin Gersh lives to build worlds. Most are dark and punctuated with the tragic heroics of his players. Drawing from his life-long love of Michael Moorcock, space opera and anime he guides players through intensely personal arcs of love, loss and redemption.
The games he runs puts players at the center of epic action in a dark high fantasy setting. Over the course of the campaign there will be opportunities for intrigue, exploring incredible environments, feats of heroism and tragic sacrifices. Alcuin Gersh switches between theater of the mind and detailed maps as the situation demands, and uses music and ambient sound to score the adventure. Players will progress quickly as they face demanding challenges, interacting meaningfully with interesting Non-Player Characters throughout a narrative with a satisfying conclusion. He builds the world with the players, and the story is shaped profoundly by their choices. Alcuin’s games are a welcoming space, and he loves building stories with people of all backgrounds.
A professional actor, writer, improviser, and Dungeon Master, Aliza has worked with Amazon, Geek & Sundry, Nerdist, Fandom, Buzzfeed, D&D Beyond, The Good Time Society, and many other channels and outlets as a streaming gamemaster and TTRPG player. Soon after guest GMing "Weave Society" on Geek & Sundry, Aliza became the Game Master of "Overlight: Fractured Paradox," a 6-episode campaign of Renegade Game Studios' fantasy RPG Overlight, also on Geek & Sundry. In December 2020, she moved from a player's seat to the GM chair in the all-Klingon Star Trek Adventures (Modiphius) campaign Blood of the Void with Streampunks RPG on Queue Times. Since the summer of 2021, she’s been the Dungeon Master for weekly D&D 5e campaign "Lords of Faerün". She recently ran a 4 shot Call of Cthulhu campaign set in an original setting, inspired by her grandmother's generation in 1940s San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Aliza's style as a DM is all about creating a rich, vibrant playground for her players to adventure in. A mix of deep lore and on-the-fly improv create a collaborative story between Aliza and her players. Aliza is the type of Dungeon Master that delights in players who respect the space and each other, while also breathing life into their PCs and "swinging for the fences" in terms of creativity and excitement. Roleplaying typically takes center stage, with a good amount of combat and political intrigue to round things out.
Eric Campbell was Director of Development at Geek & Sundry for 3 years and has been running games for over two decades. In his time at Geek & Sundry he has run live streamed games on their Twitch and Alpha Channels (Doctor Who on Eric's TBD RPG, Star Trek Adventures on Shield of Tomorrow and the Cypher System on Callisto 6).
Eric adds personal stakes to his games to give players emotional investment in their characters and fellow players. Sweeping, epic storylines are great, but so too is the story of a retired adventurer, whose hands have become arthritic and painful, picking up a sword once again to fight for what she believes matters
Jeremy Cobb (3 Black Halflings)
Co-Host of Three Black Halflings, a podcast of three nerdy friends with strong opinions and even stronger Charisma scores exploring diversity in the incredible worlds of D&D and pop culture while doling out DM tips, thought-provoking conversations, a band of guests, and good times!
The baseline for Jeremy’s game will be light-hearted with lots of laughs, punctuated by drama, high stakes combat, maybe a little horror. You will work together to weave in your character's backstory, often in ways you don't expect!
NEW: Luke Westaway
Luke (he/him) is best known as one half of Outside Xtra on YouTube, the sister channel to Outside Xbox, with whom he began his tabletop life as a member of the Oxventurers Guild. Having studied the subtle art of DMing, Luke went on to run two seasons of the hugely successful Oxventure Presents Blades in the Dark campaign, and has written his own TTRPG: Gravity RIP - a pen-and-paper game about deadly, zero gravity sci-fi racing.
Luke favours theatre-of-the-mind campaigns, and a light touch approach to the D&D ruleset that is a product of his videogaming past. If Link from Zelda doesn't have to worry about carrying capacity, why should you?
